Company size threshold increase:

Company size thresholds for audit exemption and simplified reporting increased significantly for accounting periods beginning on or after 6 April 2025. A company now qualifies as small if it meets two of: turnover up to £15 million (up from £10.2 million), balance sheet total up to £7.5 million (up from £5.1 million), and up to 50 employees (unchanged). Micro-entity turnover and balance sheet limits also rose, to £1 million and £500,000 respectively. This means many companies that previously prepared small company or medium-sized accounts may now qualify for simpler, cheaper reporting — and some may become newly exempt from audit.
